Sebastian Both
Sebastian Both completed his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.Sc.) at KIT. He then continued his studies in two Master's programmes: Master's in Engineering Structures (M.Sc.) – specialising in Modelling and Simulation in Construction Engineering – and Master's in Civil Engineering (M.Sc.). During his Master's studies, he spent a semester abroad at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. He wrote his Master's thesis at the chair of design of structures and completed it in spring 2025.
During his studies, Sebastian volunteered as a project leader at Engineers Without Borders – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology e.V. In addition, he gained deep insights into practical engineering work during an internship in structural design of timber bridges.
Since 2025, he has been a research associate at the chair of design of structures at KIT. His interests include modern modelling and simulation techniques as well as sustainable structural design.
