Michael Kalkbrenner

Inspired by building towers and bridges out of Lego and with the dream of building a soccer stadium, Michael became a civil engineer. Now, a few years later, his interests still lie in civil engineering, but the dream of building a stadium had to give way to the goal of designing and implementing sustainability in the building sector. Working as a research and teaching assistant at dos, Michael has the opportunity to achieve these goals and participate in the development of new solutions.

Between 2011 and 2019, Michael studied civil engineering at KIT with a bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) and structural engineering with a master's degree (M.Sc.). Afterwards, he worked as a site manager in civil engineering for 11 months. In the following 1.5 years Michael worked as a construction supervisor in the architectural office TAFKAL. In April 2020, he started the podcast Baustelle Bauwesen with his brother Philip. In connection with the podcast, they made many contacts with other civil engineers and architects. This network then led to the creation of the Attitude Building Collective e.V., which aims to collect and implement ways to transform the building industry.
